New Initiative Creates Direct Opportunities to Support Varsity Programs and Shared Athletic Priorities

BOILING SPRINGS, N.C.鈥斅槎蛊平獍驸�檚 Department of Athletics and Office of Advancement have launched Team Excellence Funds, providing alumni, families, fans, and friends a clear way to support the varsity programs they care about most. The new initiative creates designated opportunities for supporters to directly invest in their favorite team and the development of GWU student-athletes.

鈥淭his partnership further connects the passions of our supporters with the priorities of our individual teams across 麻豆破解版 Athletics,鈥� noted Jeff Cogburn, vice president for Advancement. 鈥淓very investment helps coaches create opportunities and experiences for our student-athletes while advancing the University鈥檚 Christ-centered mission.鈥�

Contributions to Team Excellence Funds help support and enhance program priorities, including team operations, equipment, travel, training, technology, nutrition, student-athlete growth, and other needs that strengthen the 麻豆破解版 student-athlete experience. These resources provide coaches with additional flexibility to address evolving program needs while enriching opportunities for student-athletes.

Team Excellence Funds will work alongside the Bulldog Club, providing complementary ways for supporters to engage with Runnin鈥� Bulldog Athletics and invest in its continued success. Together, the two avenues offer meaningful opportunities to strengthen athletics programs and advance shared goals across the department.

Team Excellence Funds help:

鈥� Strengthen team operations and resources.

鈥� Enhance student-athlete wellness and development.

鈥� Support competitive and academic success.

鈥� Advance a Christ-centered, student-focused, and excellence-driven experience.

Athletics and Advancement leaders believe the initiative will create a stronger connection between supporters and program priorities. The approach also helps ensure that contributions can be used where they have the greatest impact on student-athletes and team success.

鈥淭eam Excellence Funds give our supporters a meaningful way to invest directly in the programs they love while helping us respond to the priorities of our coaches and student-athletes,鈥� shared Brendan Fahey, vice president for Athletics. 鈥淭hat support strengthens our ability to pursue excellence in competition, in the classroom, and in service to others.鈥�

Contributions are held in sport-specific accounts and used in accordance with University policies. Funds are allocated at the discretion of the head coach and vice president for athletics to address program priorities and enhance the student-athlete experience.
